Harris County leaders plan to speak publicly Thursday afternoon on a new push to fund an outside review of the fatal shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo during an ICE operation in Magnolia Park last month.

Commissioner Rodney Ellis, County Judge Lina Hidalgo and District Attorney Sean Teare are scheduled to hold a media briefing tied to action at Commissioners Court to allocate money for the district attorney's independent investigation.

Araujo was fatally shot July 7 by an ICE officer.
