MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - The Midland Police Department was called to a bridge strike in the 5400 block of the eastbound lanes of West Interstate 20 around 9:50 A.M. on Tuesday.

Officers arrived to find that the overpass bridge had sustained heavy structural impact from an over-height commercial vehicle, said MPD."According to the preliminary investigation, Kurtis Bandy, 47, was operating a 2025 Kenworth T880 towing a trailer loaded with a forklift in the outside lane of eastbound IH-20," MPD reported.

The cargo exceeded the vertical clearance height of the bridge and it resulted in a collision.
