Polk County sex offender taken into custody after 8 years on the run

A fugitive sex offender identified as Doyle Cheek was arrested in Polk County after evading law enforcement for 8 years.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A man calling himself Jason Cheek was arrested when his true identity as an alleged fugitive sex offender was confirmed by Polk County deputies.

On August 14, Polk County deputies responded to the Quailcrest area in an attempt to locate fugitive sex offender Doyle Cheek.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office had provided information regarding where Cheek was hiding.
