An 18-year-old was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the murder of Ramiro Alvarado in December 2024, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Jay Robert Rangel was convicted of murder and six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by a jury two months ago, the DA's office said.

In December 2024, Rangel, who was 16 years old at the time, and a group of friends arrived at Alvarado's girlfriends home.
