SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a pickup truck around 6:25 a.m. Monday, according to authorities.

Smith County ESD2 spokesperson Nikki Simmons confirmed the crash happened on FM 14 and County Road 328 West near John Soules Foods in Smith County.

Simmons said one person was transported to a hospital, and a law enforcement official confirmed the person died from their injuries.
