LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Sundown City Council voted unanimously to take part in discussions about a potential data center on land owned by Mallet Ranch.

However, no concrete plans for a project are currently in place.

The vote followed more than an hour of community comments at a special meeting that began at 8 a.m. and lasted until about 9:30 a.m. Ranch owners contacted the city about land east of Sundown and asked whether officials wanted to be involved in discussions if development moved forward.
