TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler officials unveiled a local historic subject marker Friday recognizing the first Prince Hall Freemasonry lodge in the city.

Earlier this year, the Tyler Historical Preservation Board approved Fred Douglas Lodge #111's marker designation, recognizing it's significant contributions to Tyler's history.

Founded in 1919, lodge members first met at Ebenezer AME Church before relocating to its current home, located at 912 W.
