Emergency responders rescued more than 30 people Thursday after rapidly rising floodwaters along the Pedernales River flooded roads, threatened homes and prompted evacuations across southern Gillespie County.
Firefighters, volunteer departments, law enforcement officers and state rescue teams responded throughout the morning as the Pedernales River rose out of its banks.
