Victor Yanez returns to Lubbock County court for a retrial in connection with the April 2025 shooting death of Joshua Rios after a mistrial was declared in July.

A Lubbock man accused of murder is back in the Lubbock County courthouse for a retrial after a mistrial was declared last month.

Arguments are underway in the retrial of Victor Yanez.

Yanez is accused of shooting and killing 38-year-old Joshua Rios on Clovis Road in April of 2025.
