Boerne Champion opened district play Tuesday at Charger Gym and defeated John Jay in straight sets.

The Lady Chargers tamed the Lady Mustangs, 25-18, 25-14, 25-8.

Champion is 21-5 overall after the victory and starts district at 1-0. They visited Harlandale Friday as they continued 26-5A action.
