HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed near the Texas Medical Center on Friday morning, the Houston Police Department confirmed.

Police said the fatal crash happened along Fannin Street at Old Spanish Trail around 5 a.m. HPD confirmed the incident was fatal, though it's unclear what happened.

SkyEye13 flew over the scene, where patrol cars could be seen responding and blocking off the intersection.
