LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The Longview Public Library is hosting a lecture Tuesday about the impact of women in Longview and the surrounding area, all the way back to when the city was first founded.

The guest speaker, Dr. Meredith May, is leading the lecture titled, "Ladies Who Lunch...and Get Things Done: Women's Clubs and the Making of Longview."The lecture will be held at the library Tuesday afternoon from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event will be livestreamed on the library's Facebook page.

The final lecture in the three-part series will be hosted by Allysah Boyd on Sept. 29.
