BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Skeletal remains discovered Wednesday near a local homeless encampment in the 5900 block of Jones Road have been transported to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification for examination, police said Thursday.

The Bryan Police Department said that the remains have been preliminarily identified as those of a female.

During the on-scene investigation, detectives found an identification card belonging to a woman.
