FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) - Fort Hood soldiers are putting their shooting skills to the test against local police and veterans in a new shooting competition.

The event was held at the Clear Creek small arms range at Fort Hood, where soldiers, local law enforcement and veterans competed head-to-head in what organizers called a first-of-its-kind competition on post.

Nineteen participants made up the 10 teams competing in Fort Hood's first Law Enforcement Run and Gun."This competition is a 3-gun competition. It involves a handgun, rifle, shotgun and we throw in a 308 bolt-action rifle right around stage," said Lt. Zachary Mileer, Fort Hood Law Enforcement Activity.
