Kerr County's early voting period opens Monday, Oct. 19, amid a ballot eligibility dispute between local Republicans and Independent Precinct 2 commissioner candidate Jeremy Walther.

Helen Herd, chair of the local Republican party, argues that Walther disqualified himself by voting in the May 2026 Republican primary runoff.
