MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) - A Big Spring man died early Friday morning after his car veered off an on-ramp on Interstate 20, crossed a cable barrier, and caught fire, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Officers were called to IH-20 near mile marker 145 at approximately 3 a.m. Investigators determined that 50-year-old Ryan Jae Baughn was attempting to enter the on-ramp when his BMW veered off the right side of the road and he failed to regain control.

Baughn's vehicle drove over the cable barrier and entered the westbound lane, where the car caught fire.
