Community organizations gathered outside a southwest Houston Home Depot on Friday to question whether the retailer had cooperated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
FIEL, PSL, CRECEN and other groups held the demonstration at the store on West Sam Houston Parkway South following the detention of Juan Francisco Monroy Turuy.
Organizers said they wanted clarity about why ICE responded so quickly, why Monroy Turuy was taken into custody and whether Home Depot had provided information or otherwise assisted federal immigration authorities.
