Guadalupe County Commissioners Court recently fired the county's Road and Bridge administrator, which he said caught him unaware after helping run the department for almost six years.

Court members exited an executive session and voted to put him on paid administrative leave in June before letting him go July 24, now-former Guadalupe County Road and Bridge Administrator Douglas Burnside said.
