BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The medians on Texas Avenue have drawn years of debate in Bryan, and voters will now decide their future through City of Bryan Proposition A. The reason the medians were constructed in the first place, city officials say, is because Texas Avenue is a very dangerous roadway.

Data presented to the city in 2021 showed 580 crashes, resulting in five deaths, on the stretch of road from State Highway 21 to University Drive in just two years, from 2017 to 2019.

After the medians were installed, opinions started forming."From the very beginning, we've been concerned about the unintended consequences of the medians," said Denise Fries.
