LAMAR COUNTY, Texas (KXII) - Firefighters across Lamar County responded to a grass fire sparked by an alleged burn ban violation that burned 40 acres and threatened multiple homes on Tuesday.

According to the Lamar County Office of Emergency Management, the fire started Tuesday afternoon near FM 906 and County Road 45080, east of Arthur City.

The fire resulted in 40 acres burned, 13 homes evacuated, and one vehicle destroyed.
