COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The hunt is on for a home for College Station's new federal courthouse, and officials say the process could take longer than many expect.

Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane, who leads the Southern District of Texas, said his office has already begun meeting to select a temporary site while officials plan for a permanent building down the road."We've begun meeting to select a site," Crane said.

"We're going to start out in some temporary lease space as we then plan for a more permanent structure."Crane said he's in touch with College Station Mayor John Nichols, who has compiled a list of possible properties around town, ranging from sites near the Texas A&M University campus to other public buildings scattered across the city."I don't think I want to highlight any particular spots, but I think I added a couple locations to his list," Nichols said.
