A San Antonio man was sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with a 2024 crash that killed his passenger, according to court records.

Jose Luis Ibarra, 25, was convicted of intoxication manslaughter after authorities said he was driving 116 mph while intoxicated before crashing into the back of a pickup truck in the 500 block of Historic Old Highway 90.

San Antonio police said Ibarra was driving a black 2023 Dodge Charger northeast bound on the road on June 28, 2024, when it struck the rear of a 1999 Ford F-350. The Charger caught fire after the crash.
