NEWTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - The Texas Department of Public Safety released a statement following a fatal crash in Newton County on Saturday night.

According to the report, troopers responded to the scene of a crash involving a four-wheeler and truck on Highway 87 near County Road 3036.

Their investigation concluded that at about 10:15 p.m., a four-wheeler was traveling south on the northbound shoulder around a curve when a truck, traveling north, took evasive action after spotting the headlights of the four-wheeler.
