BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - As thousands of students continue to navigate going back to school across Bryan-College Station, local safety advocates and law enforcement are issuing urgent warnings to drivers following a staggering rise in auto-pedestrian incidents over the last several years.

According to data from the College Station Fire Department, auto-pedestrian incidents in College Station surged by 432% between 2020 and 2025.

Safety experts say the spike coincides with the growing popularity of electric scooters, e-bikes, and other micromobility devices throughout the community."When our kids are out of school, we settle into a different routine," said Will Davis, a partner at Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
