In a 4-3 vote, the New Braunfels City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance to amend Chapter 130, Article IV, Divisions 3, 5, 6 and 7 of the City's Code of Ordinances related to New Braunfels Utilities' Drought Contingency Plan on Aug. 10.
NBU CEO Ryan Kelso presented their desired amendments to trigger levels and events, drought surcharges and customer response during a special city council meeting on July 20, The Herald-Zeitung previously reported.
The amendments were cultivated by NBU staff, reviewed by the Community Advisory Panel and the NBU board of trustees, Kelso said.
