Texas House District 49 will have a new representative after Nov. 3, as Gina Hinojosa gives up the seat to run for Texas governor.

Democrat Montserrat Garibay, education advocate and former teacher, faces Green Party candidate Arshia Papari, a University of Texas at Austin student.
