KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - The Killeen City Council has voted against funding for Friends in Crisis, the city's only overnight homeless shelter, putting its future in doubt.
Shelter staff said they may have to close down operations by Oct. 1.
The shelter has relied heavily on city funding to cover operating costs.
