While Canyon Lake remains full following July flooding in the Hill Country, local entities and environmentalists continue to emphasize the importance of practicing water conservation to protect the area's resources.

As of Aug. 10, New Braunfels Utilities is operating at a stage 2 conservation status, meaning landscape watering is limited to once per week.

And while Canyon Lake's current level means the reservoir is currently in a non-drought stage, the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) still encourages residents to "continue practicing water conservation to help protect this valuable resource," its website states.
