(KGNS) - PILLAR of Laredo will hold its 14th annual Suicide Prevention Candlelight Vigil on World Suicide Prevention Day, in remembrance of 272 Laredoans who have died by suicide.

The vigil takes place Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 7:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the parking lot at PILLAR, 6406 McPherson Road.

Eduardo Reyes, PILLAR's prevention program director, said the event is meant to raise awareness and address warning signs that can appear when someone is in crisis."Unfortunately, in some situations those flags might not be as obvious, or there might even be individuals who might not take them as seriously as they should be," Reyes said.
