ALIEF, Texas - According to information provided by Kristyn Cathey, Alief Independent School District Chief of Communications, Alief Independent School District's new Young Women's Leadership School is giving middle school students a new place to learn, lead and grow together.

The school opened this school year as the district's first single-gender campus.

It currently serves sixth and seventh grade students, who are known as "Diamonds." The school's academic and extracurricular focus includes sisterhood, leadership, STEM and opportunities for women in fields where they have historically been underrepresented.
