PANOLA COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A 'small number' of Flock Safety cameras in Panola County have been relocated from highways and farm-to-market roads to county roads due to permit issues.
Panola County Sheriff Cutter Clinton said the move is temporary as Flock works to resolve right-of-way permits.
Once the company and TxDOT permits are aligned, the cameras will be returned to their original locations, according to a sheriff's office release."As your Sheriff, I will use all legal resources, technologies, and tools to fight the criminal element which always fests without proactive law enforcement. Should lawmakers and/or higher courts of law determine this technology to no longer be legal, then this technology will not be implemented in Panola County. In the meantime, we do not need to be one of the only jurisdictions not utilizing a very valuable investigative tool," Clinton said in the release.
