GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspect was arrested and charged on Friday after an investigation into child exploitation in Galveston County, authorities said.

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office said its Major Crimes Unit began an investigation after a detective working with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a cyber tip in September from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Authorities said the information indicated that the suspect was soliciting the sale of a 12-year-old child for sex and had shared a video depicting a child engaged in sexual activity online.
