Giveaways were the name of the game in Center Point's 60-0 nondistrict football loss to the visiting San Saba Armadillos on Friday when both teams combined for 10 turnovers as the Pirates fell to 2-1.

Center Point managed to thwart a pair of San Saba scoring opportunities when Ivan Felix recovered an Armadillo fumble at Center Point's 20-yard line late in the first quarter, and midway through the second period after Manny Ibarra intercepted a pass in the end zone, halting San Saba's drive that started at the Pirates' 38. The Pirates, however, were guilty of eight turnovers, five interceptions and three fumbles, that led to five San Saba touchdowns.

Four turnovers set the Armadillos up in Center Point territory with the average being at the 27-yard line.
