HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - The Cameron County Sheriff's Office will soon receive equipment upgrades as a result of federal funding secured by Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34).
Gonzalez secured $375,000 to upgrade 61 patrol vehicles with bullet-resistant windshields.
Currently, the Cameron County Sheriff's Office has only two ballistic windshield SWAT units.
