KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - The Youth Advisory Council with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Texas is honoring those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, with a new memorial at a Killeen fire station, ahead of Friday's 25th anniversary of the attacks.
Given the chance to do any project they wanted, the Youth Advisory Council chose to create a 9/11 memorial for the anniversary of the 2001 attacks.
Two benches now sit on either side of a newly planted tree that will grow for years, honoring those lost and the first responders who serve Killeen every day.
