ALPINE, Texas (KOSA) - A man who had been on the DPS Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender List has been captured near the U.S.-Mexico border.

The U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, working with several federal and state agencies, apprehended Salomon Olivas Marquez on Sept. 2 in Ruidosa.

Marquez was wanted on a warrant issued by the Ector County Sheriff's Office in March 2022, for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements with a previous conviction.
