NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) - For the fifth year in a row, the local grassroots non-profit Men Making Moves stepped up to support area students and families by giving away essential school supplies, clothes, and hygiene products ahead of the upcoming academic year."Each year it is getting bigger and bigger. We have kids come from all over. We invite everybody. We don't do it for just Grimes County, and we have people come from all over, and we love it, said President Earnest Jefferson. The event, which was completely free, was open to all students from Head Start through 12th grade, regardless of where they live or what school they attend. This year's giveaway featured backpacks filled with essential school supply kits, hygiene products like deodorant, dental floss, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, soap, and body wash, as well as clothing necessities like t-shirts, socks, and underwear.
