A decade-old tradition continues to keep students safe on Houston's north side.
"Safe Walk Home Northside" returns this school year at Marshall Middle School, where volunteers, parents and community leaders patrol the area to ensure students make it home without incident.
The program started 10 years ago, following the death of 11-year-old Josue Flores, who was stabbed and killed on his way home from school.
