He will perform with his son, Lucas, on guitar."I don't really do a set list," Hubbard said, "but I know what the first four or five songs are going to be, and what the last three are going to be. Then in the middle, I just kind of do what feels right for the audience."Finding good material is easy for Hubbard, who has an active catalog of 16 albums containing such classics as Redneck Mother, Snake Farm, and When She Sang Amazing Grace.
Hubbard also will perform songs from his latest album Reel 2 Reel 4 Reel, where he harks back to the era when recordings were made with "real guys really playing." He said it was like the days before autotune, when "you could hear string noises and you could hear the pedal squeak."Under the management of Landon Miller, The Rockbox Theater has upgraded its facilities and expanded its offerings to bring in original songwriters such as Hubbard, along with tribute acts, comedy shows, and movies."What we as a community have in Rockbox is so special," Miller said.
