ALVIN, Texas (KTRK) -- A Brazoria County grand jury will have to decide if charges should be filed after a 5-year-old was left in a locked daycare van, according to police.

The incident happened Monday, while there was a heat advisory.

In a post on social media, the Alvin Police Department said a daycare employee left the 5-year-old in a van after the child was picked up from school.
