ANDERSON, Texas (KBTX) - Anderson-Shiro CISD trustees approved a new budget and tax rate Thursday night, raising property taxes even as overall spending shrank from last year.

The board approved a $13,834,753 budget for 2026-2027, about $156,843 less than last year.

Despite the smaller budget, the total tax rate is climbing nearly 13%, from 92. 43 cents to $1. 0476 per $100 of property valuation, which is about $123 more a year for a $100,000 home.
