Polk County sex offender taken into custody after 8 years on the run

A sex offender wanted for 8 years was arrested in Polk County after deputies confirmed his true identity while he was using an alias.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A man calling himself Jason Cheek was arrested when his true identity as an alleged fugitive sex offender was confirmed by Polk County deputies.

On August 14, Polk County deputies responded to the Quailcrest area in an attempt to locate fugitive sex offender Doyle Cheek.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office had provided information regarding where Cheek was hiding.
