A fatal crash has closed the westbound main lanes of south Beltway 8 near I-59, after West Airport Boulevard, according to the Harris County Precinct 7 Constable's Office.

Houston TranStar reported the incident as a heavy-truck crash at 8:03 a.m. Motorists should expect severe congestion in both areas and consider alternate routes.
