The Randy Rogers Family Foundation's second annual Pickleball Jam, held on Sunday, Oct. 11, benefitted the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, serving as the nonprofit's largest fundraising event of the year, HSNBA Executive Director Sarah Hammond said.
"We contract with the city and the county, and that covers the basics, but a lot of these animals need more than the basics, they need extra," Hammond said.
"They're with us for a long time, or they're sick or they're injured, so that's what we use donations from fundraisers like this for - to go the extra mile." Pickleball Jam included a pickleball tournament followed by evening acoustic performances from singer-songwriters Randy Rogers, Jon Wolfe, Josh Grider and Drew Kennedy, held in the Parkhaus, LLC parking lot near Rogers' downtown New Braunfels bar, Lost and Found.
