At least one person is dead after a major crash involving three vehicles, including one that caught fire, shut down all eastbound lanes of the I-10 East Freeway, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

HCSO spokesperson Terry Garza confirmed a fatality but did not provide a number of people killed.

First responders are at the scene as authorities investigate the crash.
