A former St. Louis television news anchor who admitted to fatally stabbing her mother in Kansas last Halloween has been sentenced to life in prison.

Big picture view: Angelynn Mock, 48, was sentenced Monday in Sedgwick County District Court to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.

The punishment is commonly known as a "hard 25." District Attorney Marc Bennett and Deputy District Attorney Shannon Wilson prosecuted the case.
