ANDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A 9-year-old girl was recognized by the Anderson County Sheriff's Office after waking up to a smoke-filled home and leading her five siblings to safety before alerting her parents.

According to the ACSO, Erin Forrest woke to find her home filled with smoke.

She woke her five siblings and got them out of the home, then told her parents, John and Chelsie Forrest.
