WACO, Texas - McLennan Community College is marking 60 years of fall classes this school year, and Dr. Johnette McKown has been on campus for 37 of them.

She is now preparing for her final year as president.

A four-decade tenureMcKown joined MCC in 1989 and became president in 2009.
