Charges are pending after a train slammed into an SUV at a North Carolina crossing, killing one person.

According to Hickory police, Norfolk Southern train hit the passenger side of a dark-colored Cadillac SUV just before 3:30 a.m. on the tracks crossing 17th Street.

Video of the aftermath showed the vehicle completely destroyed.
