(KXII) - Choctaw Lighthorse Police Lt. Jake Heath has been named the Southeast Region Officer of the Year by Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond.

Heath was first on scene last July when an explosion and fire broke out during a fireworks show at the Choctaw Capitol grounds.

The blast killed one man and injured several others.
